Testimonials
Meet some of the fantastic clients that Cheesehead Construction was able to serve. These clients were happy to give a Waukesha general contractor and remodeler Waukesha Wisconsin a video testimonial of the experience they had working with us. Our passion isn’t just in building but in leaving our clients wanting us to come back and do more work. The greatest compliment we could ever receive is when our clients refer a new client to us. To us, it tells us that we did exactly what we promised, if not more than we promised, and that they trust us with their friends and family.
One such client that this remodeler Waukesha Wisconsin worked with has come back to us again and again. The very first project that we worked on with her was a house that they were getting ready to sell. The house needed all of the finish work completed. We did everything from installing baseboard and door casing to re-aligning cabinets. The work included installing an epoxy floor in the basement and installing a railing in the second-floor hallway. There was a lot of work completed on this project, but the real reason that our client brought us back for more projects is that we always did what we said we would do, and we were always there when we said we would be there. This integrity went a long way with our client, and she brought us back for a second project, her laundry room. This project had some challenges. Her laundry room was in her basement, and her house was over a century old. The majority of basements in houses of this age do not have a level floor. This provided us with the challenge of installing cabinets level. In addition, the basement wall was made out of cream city brick, which does not allow for cabinets to be attached as it is too soft for anchors. We solved this problem by building a knee wall three and a half feet tall against the cream city brick so that we had a good anchor point for the new laundry cabinets. By doing this, we also created an extra shelf that went around the room that our client could use to place and store laundry items. As a bonus, because we didn’t build the wall up to the ceiling, we were able to leave the top half of the cream city brick wall exposed, which added a lot of character to the room. While this Waukesha general contractor and remodeler Waukesha Wisconsin was installing the cabinets, we had to grind down some of the concrete floor to keep the cabinets level and at the correct height. The floor did slope pretty steeply away from the wall to a floor drain in the center of the room. Once the cabinets were installed, this room came together quite quickly. As a stylish finishing touch, we hung some shelves on the wall opposite the cabinets using black iron pipes as shelf supports and laminate countertops as the shelves.
Once this project was complete, she had us help a friend of hers with their steps. This house was a beautiful open concept near Lake Michigan that had floating steps going to the second floor. The client had been living there for about four years, and a few of the steps had started to wobble, so she hired this remodeler Waukesha Wisconsin to fix the steps. We installed black steel L-brackets that were specifically made for the project. Again, our clients were very happy, and we were told they were talking about our work for months. The next project we took on for this client was much bigger. A friend of hers had a house with a walk-up attic that had previously been finished as a second floor, but not in a usable format. Cheesehead Construction worked with the homeowner to frame in 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting room in this space. Of course, as with any project, this one had its challenges. We had a gable roof that was fourteen feet tall at the center, and our client didn’t want to lose any of it to attic or storage space. This Waukesha general contractor provided some beautiful Douglas fir as collar ties so that they could remain exposed when the project was finished. We also built knee walls along each side so that there were no places where you couldn’t stand up without bumping your head. The majority of this project ended up being the insulation, which was more important than any basement project we had done because we needed to make sure that the heat stayed in rather than escaping through the roof. The best option would have been to install spray foam, as it would have worked the best, but due to budget constraints, we used batt insulation. Once the drywall was finished on this project, it looked as though the second floor had always been livable space, and not a previous walk-up attic. Cheeshead Construction, a remodeler Waukesha Wisconsin and Waukesha general contractor, was left with a very happy client. They had been previously using 3 bedrooms for themselves and six children, and now they had 2 more bedrooms and an additional bathroom to spread out in.
This same client referred us to many other people as well.
